In the late 1920's, the Westhampton Beach Fire Department separated itself from the Quogue-Westhampton Fire Department. Over the past 80 years, the Westhampton Beach Fire Department has grown in size to over 100 volunteer firefighters, 15 pieces of apparatus, and one state-of-the-art water rescue boat. The Westhampton Beach firefighters are among the most highly trained and knowledgeable volunteers on Long Island. We are ready to handle most any situation 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
To join the Westhampton Beach Fire Department, please email us for an application or stop by the Firehouse to get one. We accept new members twice a year, but accept applications whenever. After you get in the department, you will go to fire school through the Suffolk County Fire Academy and it's instructors. Here, you will learn hands on firematic operations and have some classroom work. There are tests to take, and dirty hands to get when you are hands on.
