Westhampton Beach, NY –The Westhampton Beach Fire Department responded to an alarm

 

at 524 Dune Road at 9pm on Friday, February 16th.   Upon arriving on scene to inspect the

 

alarm, initially coming from a first floor and then a second floor smoke detector, the first chief

 

noticed smoke coming from the residence.

 

Already enroute, firefighters were notified of the smoke and prepared to make entry upon

 

arrival.  After entering and locating the fire, firefighters made a quick attack and prevented  

 

fire from spreading.

 

During the course of fighting the fire and overhaul, one firefighter received minor injuries and

 

was transported by The Westhampton War Memorial Ambulance to Peconic Bay Medical

 

Center.

 

Along with the ambulance, Eastport Fire Department responded to the scene with one

 

engine.

 

Damage to the house was moderate and the cause of the fire is being investigated by

 

the  Southampton Town Fire Marshal’s office.
